Meet Vincenzo
Today, we sit down with Vincenzo, our newly appointed F&B Supervisor, to dive into his background, inspirations, and favourite bites at Mr. Good Guy.
Q: Where were you born, or where did you grow up?
I was born in Melbourne and grew up in Tasmania.
Q: How long have you been in the F&B role? Tell us about your career background, any career highlights or countries you have worked prior to Mr. Good Guy.
I’ve been in food and beverage since I was 16, starting out in cafes and nightclubs. I took a break to work at Bunnings for a bit but eventually returned to manage a small cocktail bar. From there, I moved on to a larger venue, and now I’m here at Mr. Good Guy. A career highlight was leading my team to enter a cocktail competition – it was a memorable experience!
Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in Food and Beverage and why?
I’ve always loved working with people and find it really rewarding to meet new faces every day.
Q: What was your favourite thing to drink when you were younger? Is there a drink or food memory that is dear to you?
Rum is definitely my favourite, which I discovered while working in a bar. Plus, it’s inspired by my favourite movie – Pirates of the Caribbean!
Q: The drinks list at Mr. Good Guy has a lot of Asian influences. What is your favourite tipple on the drinks list and what dish would you enjoy it with?
I love the Good Morning Vietnam, the expresso martini cocktail. It pairs perfectly with the lamb ribs. Yum!
Q: What is your favourite dish on the Mr. Good Guy menu and why?
Fried rice is my go-to dish. It’s simple but full of flavour.
Q: When you’re off work and looking for a great feed, what are your favourite foodie hot spots in Hobart?
My top dining spots are: Winston – my absolute favourite; Grinners Dive Bar for tacos and booze, and of course Mr. Good Guy for authentic Southeast Asian street food with cheeky twists.
Q: Where would you love to travel next to try the food?
Japan is at the top of my list, especially for its incredible food scene.
