Meet Amrit
Today we caught up with our Mr. Good Guy superstar, Amrit, who joined Mr. Good Guy team in March 2025 as a bartender. Read on to discover the inspiration behind his passion for food and beverage.
Q: Where were you born or where did you grow up, Amrit?
I was born and raised in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, before moving to Australia in 2018.
Q: What motivated your move to Australia?
For better education opportunities — and for a better life!
Q: How long have you been in the Food & Beverage industry? Tell us a bit about your career journey and highlights.
Since arriving in Australia, I’ve been working in the food and beverage industry. I spent my first five years in Sydney, working across different venues, and after moving to Tasmania, I’ve been back behind the bar. My very first job in Australia was as a café all-rounder, which I got through a friend — and I’ve loved every moment in hospitality since!
Q: What was your favourite thing to drink when you were younger? Is there a drink or food memory that is dear to you?
When I was younger back home, Mountain Dew was really popular in Nepal. Drinking it with my family and school friends always brings back fond memories.
Q: Where would you love to travel next to try the food?
I’ve always been fascinated by Japanese culture. My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Japan later this year, and I can’t wait to try authentic ramen and locally brewed Japanese drinks.
